A. Roll Call 7 Present: Barbara Carroll, Mary Blair, Frank Cochran, Catherine Gootkin, Wayne Hobbs, George Carter, Robert Spirito, Maureen O’Sullivan 5 Absent: Deborah Davis, Shirley Wayne Washington, Moses Nelson, Leslie Radcliffe. Staff: Reginald Thomas Guest: Capt. Denise Blanchard, NHPD OIC Internal Affairs, Roderick Williams, Asst. Corporation Counsel, Officer Craig Miller and Joseph Alem.
B. Guest Introductions Officer Craig Miller, Police Union Board and Joseph Alem, East Shore Management Team.
C. Review of Minutes Motion to accept minutes by Maureen O’Sullivan, seconded by George E. Carter; passed unanimously.
D. Review of Agenda Motion to accept minutes by George E. Carter, seconded by Robert Spirito; passed unanimously.
E. Internal Affairs Update Capt. Blanchard reported that as of July 15, 2011, Internal Affairs will be reporting to Assistant Chief Petisha Adger and she will try to attend the next CRB meeting. 3-C Cases were closed in July. During that period, Internal Affairs received 18 cases, 2 were not in NHPD jurisdiction and 2 were “I” cases. IA now has extended hours for CRB members to read cases two days a month, the 1st Tuesday and 3rd Wednesday of the month from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. The Internal Affairs department will probably be moving to the 1st floor of 200 Orange Street, previously the Human Resources Department. Board of Police Commissioners is beginning to approve General Orders.
F. Unfinished Business Jazz afternoon fundraiser for Shirley Wayne Washington will be at East Shore Park on Saturday, September 10, 2011; tickets are $20.00.
F. New Business Leslie Radcliffe is a new member appointed by the Hill South Management Team.
G. A motion to go into Executive Session by Mary Blair, seconded by George E. Carter; passed unanimously. Motion to adjourn by Catherine Gootkin and seconded by Mary Blair.
